It became a realization that those that have been most influential in the realm of Florida Cycling advocacy for the common cyclists have gone unrecognized at the state level. Furthermore, there is no long lasting record of past champions of cycling or the ambassadors of cycling to recognize their achievements. There are those that achieved as elite cyclists and those that greatly contributed to the development of cyclists who are deserving of recognition. Florida 's Mountain Bike Trails? Where is the record of
Florida 's most achieved cyclists ?
The Florida Cycling Hall of Fame intends to gather this information and create a system to identify the deserving contributors and achievers in Florida Cycling. This program hopes to be dedicated to preserving the history of Florida Cycling with an upcoming 2008/9 Hall of Fame inductee process.
Categories: The categories for nomination are not set in stone and could periodically be adjusted as needed.
Accomplishments in Racing - This category will be broken down into junior accomplishments primarily as a motivator for youth cycling. Male and female nominees will be listed together in both adult and Junior Categories. Both a male and female nominee will be voted in if their is/are qualifying riders.
Adventures in Touring - for the long-distance touring crowd.
Community Activist/Public Service - for the organizers that make it happen for the rest of us.
Commercial Success in Cycling - bike shop owners and manufacturers who have made a difference.
Living La Vida Velo- an overall category for those that just don’t fit anywhere else.

We are currently accepting your nominations for the 2008 Hall of Fame Induction. All we need from you is a three paragraph essay on your choice nomination based on the terms on the nomination page. We have a form you can fill out to make this easier, which can be found in the left margin. There is also a Pending Nominations section for incomplete or nominations pending review and verification. Below this is a list and general information on potential nominees.
